    Orange Potential

First of all, hi to everyone home at Connexus! Miss you guys (not to mention missing my kids!).  You've heard us talk a lot about Orange. I imagine people wonder: why would almost 4000 people leave home to attend a conference in Atlanta?  Just to get inspired?  Nope. It's way bigger than that.

Orange is about helping church leaders to work together with parents to raise our kids morally and spiritually.  I also think it's a huge front door that God is opening into communities world wide.  Think about it:  the average parent who doesn't go to church rarely lies awake at night wondering what a lead pastor is going to speak about next, but the average parent who doesn't go to church lies awake at night wondering whether their kids are going to be okay.  If we come alongside parents and simply say "we care about the same things you do", it opens conversations that might never happen otherwise.

It's what makes me so thrilled to be part of Connexus at home, and so excited to see thousands of church leaders catch a vision for what could be as we partner with parents to help their kids become everything God dreams of us being.

This is more than a conference...it feels much more like a movement.

    Orangeologists...what potential do you see?

The conference was indeed amazing and I cannot wait (neither can my boss) to start implementing some of the concepts from Orange (I already am a little bit - http://fjif.blogspot.com/).

The potential goes as far as we are willing to let God take us! As Francis Chan is fond of saying, God is able to use those who are willig - that's all He needs.

I am excited to see what happens in the Church over the next several decades.

There is huge potential for leaders & parents to come together for the glory of God.
This weekend could be one of those times. I am feeling very uneasy & nervous about our first performance of the rock musical "That's Life" tonight. There are a number of youth groups coming to the performance tonight, Saturday & Sunday as well as adults. There are a number of individuals that are coming that don't "do" church. Trusting that God will work through us to change lives in a positive way--prayers are needed....

The conference was fantastic. With me being new on staff, i was glad that I have a Senior Pastor and a Children's Director who was willing to travel with me from Ohio.

We had a great time and are looking forward to a few days in May where we can "debrief".

Jeff...alignment (of staff and leaders around a common vision) is emerging as one of the top three issues in Orange. So glad you guys are aligned or aligning!
